Help
FlyPamo lives in your Mac's menu bar. Its notes float above your other windows; everything else is in FlyPamo's own window, under the menu bar icon.
Make a note
Press ⌃⌥N anywhere, or choose New Note from the menu bar icon. The note appears on the screen you are working on and you can type at once, even while it is still flying in. There is nothing to save: every key is kept.
Press Esc to stop typing; the note stays where it is and your keyboard goes back to the app you were in. A new note you leave empty disappears.
Move, resize, style
- Drag a note by its top band. Resize it from any edge or corner.
- Right-click the top band for colour, opacity, text size, a time, and Done. The same list is under the … button.
- Text size: the two A buttons on the band, or ⌘+ ⌘− ⌘0 while you type (⌃ works too). Many people make the important notes larger.
- A see-through note becomes solid while the pointer is over it.
Notes with a time
Click the clock on a note, or press ⌘T, and pick a time. From then on FlyPamo decides when you see it:
| Stage | When | What you see |
|---|---|---|
| Quiet | Until an hour before | Small and dim at the right edge of the screen. You can drag it elsewhere. |
| Coming up | The last hour | Back to full size, in its place, above your windows |
| Now | At the time | Red, in front of everything, with a notification |
A note in Now stays until you choose Done or Later. Closing the notification does not count. “An hour before” can be 15 minutes, 30 minutes or 2 hours instead: Settings › Reminders › Coming up.
Done and the Archive
Done takes a note off your screen and keeps it in the Archive: menu bar icon › Archive…, or the Archive page in FlyPamo's window. From there you can put it back (Restore to Desktop) or delete it for good.
Hide all notes
Press ⌃⌥H before a meeting or a screen share; every note flies into the menu bar icon. Press it again and they come back to where they were. While they are hidden, a note that reaches its time sends a notification and puts a red dot on the menu bar icon; it does not show itself.
All your notes in one window
Menu bar icon › Manage Notes… opens FlyPamo's window. Notes lists every note on your desktop by stage, shown or hidden; select one to edit it there, change its colour or time, bring it to the front, or delete it. Right-click the list for a new note.
Sync between your devices
- Account › Sign In. Type your email address and the 6-digit code we send you. There is no password, and the same steps make a new account.
- From then on, notes sync by themselves: shortly after each change, and about every minute. Without a network, FlyPamo works as before and catches up later.
- If the same note was edited on two devices while they were offline, you get both: the second one appears as a separate note marked “Conflict copy”. Keep the one you want.
- Where notes sit on screen and your settings stay on each Mac; screens differ.
- Signing out or deleting your account leaves the notes on your Mac.

If something is not right
I can't see the menu bar icon
On a Mac with a notch, a full menu bar hides the icons that do not fit behind the notch. Quit a menu bar app you do not need, or hold ⌘ and drag icons to make room. You can also turn on Settings › General › Show in Dock.
No notifications arrive
Check System Settings › Notifications › FlyPamo, and Settings › Reminders › System notifications in FlyPamo. The note itself still turns red at its time either way.
A shortcut does nothing
Another app may use the same keys. Pick other keys in Settings › Shortcuts.
Keep a copy of everything
Settings › Data › Export writes all your notes to one plain text file, signed in or not.
